The Wildlife and Sport Restoration Trust Funds are the lifeblood of every state fish and wildlife agency. Approximately 80% of a state agency's budget is derived from the 10% excise tax paid up front quarterly by the hunting, shooting and angling industries and ultimately by America's sportsmen and women.

Through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program more than $14 billion dollars have been entrusted to state fish and wildlife agencies for fisheries and wildlife restoration and management; hunter, angler and boater access; as well as for hunter and boater safety education.
